Ally Down Under
A bold, graphic poster from circa 1942 produced by the New Zealand Legation in the United States. Three Pacific-theatre soldiers in khaki uniforms with netted helmets march forward against a vivid purple background with palm trees. "New Zealand Ally Down Under" was designed to build American support for the war effort in the Pacific -- a reminder that New Zealand's contribution was recognised on the world stage. From Te Papa Tongarewa.
